brewstand maker

my buddy, nic, is handy with the metalwork and loves beer... i recently scored a pile of metal racking from my work...for free. what else would we do? build a legit brew stand.

it's going to be a brutus 10 style setup with 2 tiers. the mash will not be direct fired at this point since i'm using a cooler mash tun, but we're leaving space to add a third burner in the future. it's just under 6' wide which will leave room in front of the HLT for a shelf/work bench/place to set a beer, swith and GFCI for the pump and whatever else needs to be plugged in, and possibly a drawer for storage (refractometer, scale, etc.). nic also has an idea for mounting a water filter and some hooks for the mash paddle. it's on some heavy casters for mobility. the bottom space below the MLT and HLT will be a solid shelf for mounting the pump, gas manifold, propane tank, and provide extra storage. it's going to be awesome when it's done, and will keep the manual labor of brew days at my house down to a minimum.

i don't know how to weld, so i get to grind stuff...and watch.

nic does know how to weld. it's good to have a friend who's handier than me.
