Hoppermaker
we brewed up 10 gallons of our take on Rogue's Dead Guy. We were going to call it zombie maker, but in honor of dennis hopper we decided to call it Hoppermaker. It was an early brew session, started at 11am, and finished around 4:30. kris brought over an Imperial Red Ale from one of our new local breweries, EPIC. it was delicious. we ended up filming a good chunk of the brew session and will post some video once were done editing. ended up with an OG of 1.065. we also killed off the rest of my stout and put Kimosbi on the gas. i can't wait to try this one out, should be ready right around the time of the e3 microsoft press conference (6/14).

beer, absynthe, and more beer
brutal night last night. had a nice little bbq with some friends. a few months ago when nicole was in costa rica she picked up a bottle of absynthe, which we put to good use. we also had some dogfishhead 60 min ipa and kona fire rock (two beers we've cloned in the past). all in all, an awesome night of drinking variety. kris brought over some dead kegs so we racked over the mythical beast (fg 1.010) and kimosabi (fg 1.013).

Zombie Maker Helles Bock
sooooooooooo..........ordered up the ingredients for a Maibock/Helles Bock recipe from Brewmaster's. Should be brewin it up a week from tomorrow. We're calling it Zombie Maker. It's a variation on a Rogue Dead Guy recipe... check it out here: Zombie Maker Helles Bock.
also, I'm pretty sure Broadzilla is about to run out... so I might have a Mythic Beast/Kimosabe double threat carbing up at the same time...
oh, and baker (who will from this day forth be known as "gerber daisy") sent me this, I'm thinking we should all take this guys advice on sanitation, Louie Pasteur may be rolling in his grave... I liked that he recommends taking off your shirt to keep your "dust free" room clean.

Kimosabi
big brew session last night. brewed up 10 gallons of a beer created by jamil. (amber/red ale). i cut down some of the grain bill to hopefully score an abv around 4%. we were going for a red ale, but it looks more brown than red, more impotantly we were looking for something tastey and easily drinkable. we ended up with an OG of 1.043 and a total brew time of 4:50.
we also racked the mythical beast from primary to secondary. it took 3 weeks but the gravity finally dropped to 1.012. it's currently resting on some oak chips in secondary. the airlocks are still bubling and another layer of film has swarmed over the top. this is one brutal yet fugly looking brew, I can't wait to give it a taste!

uinta trader ipa vs. broadzilla's revenge
uinta trader ipa [left] berrillmaker broadzilla's revenge (extra pale ipa???, not really sure what to call it, but 6 oz of centennial speaks for itself) [right]
trader...
broadzilla...
i'd like to give you a verdict, but i got distracted by how awesome this moment was... oh, if anyone was wondering, the mythic beast survived the explosion and is sitting pretty at 1.016fg=6.3%abv.
